Water Leaks

Check your water meter
Turn off all faucets, appliances, and irrigation systems.
Record the meter reading.
Wait 1–2 hours without using water.
If the reading changes, you may have a leak.

Inspect common leak locations
Under sinks
Around toilets
Water heaters
Washing machine hoses
Dishwashers
Refrigerator water lines

Test toilets
Add a few drops of food coloring to the tank.
Wait 15–20 minutes without flushing.
If color appears in the bowl, the toilet is leaking.

Look for warning signs
Water stains on walls or ceilings
Mold or mildew
Musty odors
Peeling paint
